Completed Projects

Here are some examples of projects that were completed after two quick days of Camtasia and Jing training. They are impressive!

Thanks to the brave participants who were willing to share their early projects with me.

Moving Projects Safely

At last year's Institute, I posted an important message about how to safely move a Camtasia project from one computer to another. Here is a link to the instructions. If you don't follow them, you won't be able to work on your project on multiple computers.

Schedule for Day 4

I see lots of learning going on and I hope I didn't add too much content today. Thanks to Cindy for all the help she's giving us with Vista and the set up at Bellevue College.

On Friday we'll working from 8:15am - 12:30pm. Then we'll head off to lunch and presentations. I'll be giving the lunch talk and there will also be an award ceremony.

Here's what I hope to accomplish tomorrow.
  1. Conduct a quick review of the many files generated by Camtasia and how to manage them.
  2. Do the drawing for the free Snagit, Camtasia Studio, 3 books, and several t-shirts.
  3. Continue to answer questions and help you with your individual projects.
  4. Talk about RSS if the group votes yes on adding new content.
  5. Complete the Final Day evaluation.
Here is the last handout on creating Camtasia web menu projects and adding them to Angel.

Schedule for Day 3

Today was a bit more challenging. Camtasia has lots of features so the learning curve is steeper than Jing. I created a couple new handouts to provide additional instructions for managing Screencast.com files and for setting up to record PowerPoint in a smaller window. You can view them online or print them (or both).

On Thursday, we'll be working from 8:15am - 11:45am and then again from 12:30pm till 5pm.

Here's what I hope we'll be able to accomplish.
  1. Create a web menu or web theater project.
  2. Learn some Snagit basics.
  3. Use Open lab time to work on your own projects.
We will walk over to the Faculty Resource Center to see the recording rooms that are available there.

Schedule for Day 2

What a great group you are! We got much farther than I ever expected today - even with intermittent Internet outages.

On Wednesday, we'll be working from 8:15am - 12:15pm then break for lunch till 1:15pm and work until 5pm.

Housekeeping first:
  • Change mouse pointer.

Here's what I hope we'll accomplish.
  1. Create a Camtasia screencast then edit, enhance, and produce it.
  2. Upload presentation to Screencast.com.
  3. Practice!
  4. Create a "web menu" or "web theater" project - great for delivering "chunked" content.
  5. After lunch, record and produce a PowerPoint slide show.
  6. Practice!
  7. Work on your projects.
During one of our breaks, we'll walk over to the FRC (Faculty Resource Center) where there are two small recording rooms. When you're ready to create the audio for your own projects, you'll be able to use these recording rooms.
